Chloe
aka Wiggle-worm, Squeaker and Mini-kitty

Born: Winter 2002

Our second youngest and oh-so-girly third cat is Chloe.  She earned her nicknames because of her reaction to being picked up.  Frankly put, she hates it.  If you do pick her up, she will squirm and squeak until she escapes or is released, so she is nicknamed Wiggle-worm and Squeaker.  But as long as you don't pick her up, she is one lovey cat.  She is so lovey, in fact, we had to put plastic corner protectors on a few walls in our house.  Chloe would love on them and rub up against them constantly and had rubbed off the paint - and that was after just 6 months of being at the house!

The reason for the nickname of "Mini-kitty" is because she was our smallest cat (until Bitty).  Though she is full grown, she's pretty compact.  She has such a short torso and stubby little legs.  But even though she is the smaller in size, she keeps up with the others as far as weight.  She's the second smallest, but usually ranks as the second heaviest at around 10 pounds.

We acquired Chloe right before Valentine's Day 2003.  We took Ashes in to the vet to get an arthritis shot and the vet showed us this cute little gray and white kitten.  The vet had found and her brother beside the body of their mother who had been killed by traffic.  Her brother had already been adopted and the vet was looking for a home for Chloe.  The staff at the office recognized a softy when they saw one (me) and so Chloe ended up coming home with us.  Because she and Nibby are so close in age, they have really bonded with each other.  We call them our little peas because they are so alike and constantly together, just like two peas in a pod.
